Analyst Programmer

2011-07-01 - 2012-05-01

Fulfilling my role as an Analyst Programmer in the Research and Development team, my responsibilities involved developing internal software to automate otherwise manual processes. The work largely consisted of analysing existing processes, and finding meaningful ways of automating them for the teams affected in the building.

During my time at the company, I also held large responsibilities in developing robust reporting solutions that could support the high volumes of trading transactions executed by our white label clients. This was necessary in ensuring that our clients had an accurate overview of their accounts and trading performance with us.

Developed to a high standard to ensure fast delivery on a daily basis, and in accordance with international banking regulations; my code had to be efficient and thoroughly unit-tested. Regulatory bodies that I had to work in accordance with included the likes of FINMA, and NFA. Failing to ensure that reports were accurate and provided sufficient information could mean that fines could be issued.

Responsibilities

  • Developing core reporting software for white label clients
  • Research and development of internal software for automating manual processes
  • Developed cross-language wrappers for trading platform APIs
  • Occasional interaction with colleagues while having to use the French language to prevent any language barriers.
